The Story
Founded on Bridge Road, in 2001
Before Tumi, Renato Marsilli spent the first decade of his career in editorial and session work, preparing models for product launches and sitting on the Sebastian Professional global creative team. The travel kept the work current and the discipline sharp. Eventually, the pull of his own room outweighed the pull of the floor lights.
Louisa, also a hairdresser, joined as business partner and Co-Director. In 2001 the two of them opened Tumi on Bridge Road, Richmond, and have been there since. The salon grew quietly through its first sixteen years, then took on its current premises so the room could carry the standard of the work being done inside it.
What still drives Renato after thirty-eight years at the chair is the way fashion evolves, and the satisfaction of giving someone the result they came in hoping for, regardless of their walk of life.

Every appointment at Tumi is guided by a Senior Stylist or Director, supported by a team of colour specialists and highly experienced stylists, many of whom have been part of the salon for more than a decade and bring backgrounds in editorial and advanced colour work.

We provide an approximate price guide online to help guests understand our services; however, every head of hair is unique and pricing may vary depending on the personalised work required to achieve your desired result.
As many guests are extending the time between visits, it is not uncommon to see regrowth beyond six months. Our online pricing is based on the maintenance needs of regularly visiting clients, typically within a twelve-week timeframe.
For colour transformations, corrections or significant changes, we recommend a complimentary consultation with one of our experienced stylists. Rather than quoting over the phone, we prefer to assess the hair in person, taking into account its history, condition and your desired outcome. This allows us to create a tailored plan with complete transparency, realistic expectations and results we can all be proud of.
